Logs Explorer now features a LogQL-compatible Query Editor. As we constantly improve the logs experience and onboard more customers, power users have been requesting the ability to write advanced queries directly into an editor. Don’t worry, the Builder you’ve gotten used to is still there.
With the introduction of the Query Editor, we’ve also taken a shot at rethinking the many options we’ve added with rapid iterations since we rolled out Logs Explorer in public beta a few weeks ago.
Added a toggle between Builder and Editor
Query Editor is LogQL compatible with support for autocomplete
Note: Support for autocomplete for aggregation functions and attributes parsed directly from the log body is a work in progress
While the Builder auto queries each newly applied filter, you have to manually trigger a query in the Editor by either clicking on Run Query or using the ⌘ + ↵ keyboard shortcut
For queries parsing through extremely large volumes of log data, results are chunked and you’ll see Status — Processing. In most cases, results are instant and you’ll see Status — Complete
Toggle visibility of the logs volume chart
Toggle visibility of the filters sidebar, instead of the earlier separate “Hide Filters” button, to make the whole experience unified and consistent
